The excursion
You leave from Kissamos port on a large cruise boat with a bar and sun decks. First stop is Gramvousa island: walk up to the Venetian fortress or swim in the bay. Then on to Balos lagoon, shading from white to turquoise, where you spend a few hours swimming and strolling on the pinkish sand.
The ideal day out for families: no dirt roads, you arrive straight from the sea.
